Artists
Dienes, Gábor (1948-2010)
Biography:
I was born on 12th March, 1948 in Debrecen.
I spent my childhood in Mátészalka, my father took me to fish and hunt, so I fell in love with nature.
In 1962, I was accepted to the Grammar School of Fine Arts in Budapest.
After the final exams, I was applied to the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, in 1966.
My masters were: Aurél Bernáth and Iván Szilárd.
In 1973, when I finished my studies, I could stay there to teach, as the assistant lecturer of Ignác Kokas.
It was really good to work with him, and after his retirement, I “inherited” his class.
Until 1997 I was a teacher at the university, and during that time – I hope – my students learnt so much from me as I learnt from them.
